This book is essentially a surgically oriented text in which the authors' preferred techniques of managing problems concerning the eyelids, lacrimal apparatus, and orbit are described. The material included in this book is presented in a lucid, easily assimilable fashion and includes more than 700 clinical and surgical photographs. Line drawings are both numerous and explicit.

At the beginning of the text, some preliminary discussion is devoted to the basic principles of skin and mucosal grafting and to the use of local flaps around the eyelids. Subsequent chapters deal with congenital eyelid defects, trauma, lacrimal tract surgery, acquired lid deformities, and tumors of the eyelids and adnexa. The authors' descriptions of ptosis surgery and surgery for ectropion and entropion are thorough and detailed. Surgical management of lid tumors and techniques of eyelid reconstruction are also particularly well presented.
