This is the second printing of the original textbook by the author, published in 1971, updated with bibliography and chapter revisions.

It suffers somewhat in its attempt to be a thorough compendium of nasal anatomy and physiology as well as an instructional atlas of nasal surgery. The chapters are numerous and repetitive, the physiology is related too often to personal observation rather than rigorous science, and the surgical techniques are largely restricted to those of the school headed by Maurice Cottle. The text is wordy and the surgical descriptions occasionally obtuse and hard to follow for the beginner.

Nevertheless, I must admire the intent of the author to provide the modern otolaryngologist with a background in the fundamentals of functional surgery of the nasal complex, and the book is recommended.
