A 26-year-old man had a mass at the angle of the right mandible for approximately one year following an episode of mononucleosis. Physical examination revealed a firm, fixed, nontender mass in the tail of the parotid that measured 1.5 x 2.0 cm. The results of the remainder of the otolaryngic examination were entirely normal.
Past medical history included an exploration of the right side of the neck at the age of 6 months, with the diagnosis of neuroblastoma. The patient subsequently underwent radiotherapy to the right side of the neck.
A superficial parotidectomy was performed. Sections of the mass are seen in Fig 1 and 2. What is your diagnosis?
