Primarily this text is an atlas of color photographs of the nose, nasopharynx, and sinuses taken through a series of nasopharyngoscopes with the help of an electronic light source. The pictures are superb and are accompanied by drawings and an explanatory text that adds to their value. No previous book has presented such a variety of upper airway endoscopic pictures, and this text is, therefore, a welcome addition, particularly to the student or practitioner of rhinology.

Some of the most fascinating pictures are those of the sinus ostia, taken both from the nasal chamber and from the sinus interior. These pictures present a new dimension in diagnosis of infection, obstruction, and tumor detection. Endoscopy of the nasopharynx with endoscopes having the proper angle of light perception gives views far superior to those obtained with only the average 90° view.
