This clinical otopathology textbook prepared by Prof I. Friedmann of England is composed primarily of self-explanatory and well-reproduced clear photomicrographs together with pathological descriptions. The book has an extensive reference list for further reading that is helpful for the study of otopathology for graduate-level people and resident physicians in otolaryngology. Two major sections are: (1) general pathology of the ear, which illustrates the changes caused by inflammatory diseases, neoplasms, and systemic bone diseases and otosclerosis; and (2) inner ear pathology, which includes developmental disorders, and endocrine disorders, vascular diseases, different forms of acquired deafness, ototoxic involvement, the effect of aging, and Meniere disease.

The inflammatory diseases, neoplasms, and embryological and developmental disorders are well described based on the extensive background of the author as a renowned clinical and experimental pathologist.
