This is the sixth volume of a series giving the proceedings of the Mosby Plastic Surgery Symposium held in Phoenix, Ariz, Nov 10 to 13,1971. This is a very comprehensive discussion, taking up history, aesthetic evaluation, anatomy, various surgical techniques and modifications, plus complications. The section on ears is the best and most comprehensive that I have ever read. All authors believe that some form of suture technique is mandatory and that, in most cases, the spring of the cartilage must be weakened by scoring the lateral surface of the antihelix.
There are excellent discussions of nasal anatomy and physiology and a very fine treatment of surgical anatomy by Broadbent and Wolf, utilizing cadaver dissections and demonstrations. The rest of the section on the nose is mainly a "this is how I do it" type of discussion by various authors, illustrated by pictures of instruments and diagrams (often anatomically inaccurate)
