A 25-year-old woman presented with a 1-year history of right-sided nasal obstruction, purulent rhinorrhea, intermittent epistaxis, and headache. Right-sided facial paresthesia, without an obvious right-sided facial palsy, had also developed in the last 3 months. The patient had no symptoms of blurred vision or diploplia. She had a 6-year history of cigarette smoking. Endoscopic examination revealed a reddish solid mass occupying the middle meatus and extending posteriorly toward the sphenoidal sinus.
Precontrast T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging of the brain and sinuses revealed a right heterogeneous intranasal mass with extension to the right maxillary, ethmoidal, and sphenoidal sinuses (Figure 1). The lesion extended along the greater palatine nerve and invaded the hard palate (Figure 1, arrow).
