News From the Annual Meeting of the American Head and Neck Society

The American Head and Neck Society (AHNS) held its annual meeting April 28-29, 2007, in San Diego, California, in conjunction with the Combined Otolaryngology Society Meetings under the leadership of Randal S. Weber, MD. Ehab Y. Hanna, MD, served as program chairman. Robert M. Byers, MD, Helmuth Goepfert, MD, and Oscar M. Guillamondegui, MD, were the guests of honor.

The scientific program included 45 proffered oral presentations and 72 scientific posters. In addition, there were 2 panels, an endocrine video session, poster tours, and the Jatin P. Shah Symposium: "Clinical Controversies in Head and Neck Cancer."

Ernest A. Weymuller Jr, MD, received a distinguished service award, and presidential citations were given to Adel K. El-Nagger, MD, PhD, Henry T. Hoffman, MD, and Christopher J. O’Brien, MD.
