News From the Annual Meeting of the American Head and Neck Society

The American Head and Neck Society (AHNS) held its annual meeting August 17-20, 2006, in Chicago, Ill, in conjunction with the Research Workshop on the Biology, Prevention, and Treatment of Head and Neck Cancer under the leadership of President John J. Coleman III, MD. Dennis M. Krause, MD, Carol R. Bradford, MD, and Jean Louis Lefebvre, MD, served as program chairs and Maurice J. Jurkiewicz, MD, was honored as the guest of honor.

The scientific program included 115 proffered clinical and research oral presentations and 240 scientific posters with poster tours. Abstracts from the meeting were published in the August 2006 issue of the ARCHIVES. In addition, there were 38 instructional courses and 4 panels that included the inaugural Jatin P. Shah Symposium on Clinical Controversies in Head and Neck Surgery.
