As of the October issue of the Archives of OtolaryngologyHead & Neck Surgery, I am honored to have been chosen as the new journal editor. I would like to share some of the many improvements in the journal that Michael M. E. Johns, MD, instituted as well as some of his achievements during his illustrious career in our specialty while at the University of Virginia and The Johns Hopkins University and, finally, while leading the Emory Health System.
Dr Johns and the journal staff focused on improved organization and, based on his interest in medical education, significantly altered the format and content of the journal. Those who have submitted a manuscript for publication or who have been requested to review a manuscript for the ARCHIVES know that the journal now uses the internet to manage submissions.
