The American Head and Neck Society is currently wrapping up the final phase of planning for the Sixth International Conference of Head and Neck Cancer scheduled August 7-11 at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC. An outstanding scientific program has been developed by Conference Chairman Ashok Shaha and Program Chairman Ernest Weymuller, Jr. The Hayes Martin Lecture will be delivered by Christopher O'Brien, MD, of Newton, Australia, while the John Conley Lecture is being delivered by David Leach, MD, executive director of the ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education). Jatin P. Shah, MD, of New York will deliver the Distinguished Service Lecture.

Nearly 1000 abstracts have been submitted for consideration on the proffered program. Mark D. Coltrera, MD, chairs the Proffered Review Committee.
