FIVE YEARS AGO (an eternity in Web time) the first author (M.R.) wrote 2 articles^1-2 on the impact of the Internet on this journal. Since then, the Archives Web site has developed from a little-noticed afterthought to a sophisticated engine that lets the user access the current and archived content of our specialty's best journal from anywhere in the world. With the launch of our new Web site, on March 17, 2003, we have partnered with HighWire,³ allowing our readers seamless access to not only our own material, but the cross-referenced archives of over 300 participating journals.
