A 38-YEAR-OLD African American woman presented with a 10-year history of slowly enlarging, painless masses in the right side of her neck. Her medical history was significant for removal of a mass from the right side of her neck 20 years earlier at another hospital. Attempts to obtain the pathology report and/or slides were unsuccessful. The patient denied a history of head and neck trauma, infectious disease, autoimmune processes, endocrine disorders, or pulmonary and renal disease. A review of systems was negative for weight loss, joint pain, myalgias, rashes, and shortness of breath.
Physical examination revealed 2 firm, discrete, mobile, nontender, 3-cm masses in the right preauricular region and a separate mass approximately 5 cm in greatest dimension in the upper part of the right side of the neck. The patient had a well-healed . . . [Full Text of this Article]
