Remembering Ruth C. Enquist

Ruth C. Enquist died on September 1, 1997, after an extended illness. Mrs Enquist had a long and dedicated association with many organizations in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery. She started with the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology as a secretary in 1970. When the academies divided, she continued her association with the American Academy of Otolaryngology as director of meetings and memberships. When the AAO-HNS moved from Rochester, Minn, to Arlington, Va, in 1982, she began her own business, We Plan Meetings Inc, while she continued to serve as managing editor of the AAO-HNS journal, Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. As president of We Plan Meetings, Mrs Enquist served as a meeting planner for the Department of Otolaryngology at the Mayo Clinic, the joint meetings of the American Society for Head and Neck Surgery and the Society of Head and Neck Surgeons, The World Congress . . .
