Present Status of Vaccines for Rubella

John L. Sever, MD

Arch Otolaryngol. 1973;98(4):265-268.

Effective rubella vaccines that have thus far been developed contain live attenuated strains of rubella virus. The two rubella vaccines that have been licensed and are available in the United States (HPV-77 and Cendehill) meet the criteria established for an ideal vaccine.
