Roentgenographic Evaluation in Lingual Tonsillitis

John V. Forrest, MD; Patrick D. Lester, MD

Arch Otolaryngol. 1973;97(6):482-483.

Abstract

A case of lingual tonsillitis in which the diagnosis was first suggested roentgenographically is presented. The base of the tongue should always be examined on lateral soft-tissue roentgenograms of the neck, especially in those patients complaining of a sore throat, to evaluate for this elusive cause of pain and dysphagia.
