Results From an 8- to 18-Year-Old Group

Abstract
This study developed normative data for male and female children on the four most discriminative subtests of the Floor Ataxia Test Battery. Three hundred orthopedically and audiologically normal subjects (25 boys and 25 girls at age levels 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 years) were administered the Sharpened Romberg (SR/EC), the Standing on One Leg Eyes Closed (SOLEC/R-L) and the Walk on Floor Eyes Closed (WOFEC) tests.

The results were: (1) The variables of height and weight were not consistently related to performance on the test battery. (2) Successive age level groups did not differ significantly in performance in any consistent way. (3) Sex, generally speaking, was not a significant variable on the tests except as noted.
