Abstract
Dose response experiments were conducted on guinea pigs comparing the toxic liability of tobramycin and gentamicin on cochlear electrophysiology and histology. Parallel curves were obtained for the effect on the alternating current cochlear potential and hair cell destruction. In all cases the most damaging effect was produced by gentamicin.
