Abstract
Mucormycosis developed in a renal transplant patient receiving immunosuppressive drugs. The patient had only mildly elevated blood glucose levels as the result of high steroid dosage. The diagnosis of Mucor was confirmed by culture and histopathologic examination. The patient appears to have been cured by surgical excision. The need for early diagnosis and prompt initiation of treatment is stressed.
