Undiagnosed Intratemporal Facial Nerve Neurilemomas

Arch Otolaryngol. 1972;95(5):415-419.
Abstract
A review of 600 temporal bones reveals five small neurilemomas of the facial nerve. Four had caused no symptoms and one had produced weakness of the orbicularis oculi. The location and appearance of the tumors suggest that they arose from the sensory component of the nerve.
