Abstract
A 51-year-old man had pemphigus vulgaris limited almost exclusively to the mucous membranes of his upper respiratory tract. Pemphigus vulgaris is a chronic bullous disease which may relate to serum antibodies directed against antigens of the epidermis. Diagnosis depends upon biopsy demonstration of an intraepidermal bulla with acantholytic cells. Successful management may be attained with corticosteroids and antimetabolites.
