Hemangioma of the Pharynx in a Newborn

Daniel M. Lavigna, Jr., MD; Herbert G. Birck, MD

Arch Otolaryngol. 1970;92(3):282-283.

Abstract

This case demonstrates the value of soft tissue x-ray films of the head and neck in cases of airway obstruction when physical examination, chest film, barium swallow, and endoscopy fail to provide evidence for a diagnosis. To our knowledge, this is the youngest reported case of submucosal hemangioma of the pharynx.
