Abstract
Unilateral deafness occurred in a 10-year-old boy with a history of meningococcal meningitis. The physical, audiologic, vestibular, and roentgenographic findings were consistent with healed meningococcal labyrinthitis. Careful study of the medical history of children with hearing impairment of obscure etiology is essential.
