Simultaneous Laryngeal Tumors in Sisters
LCDR Frank I. Marlowe, MC
Arch Otolaryngol. 1970;92(2):195-197.
Abstract
Although the frequency of cancer of the larynx is relatively high, comprising 2.5% of all human cancers, the literature contains very few references to its occurrence in siblings. Such an unusual case is herein reported whereby two sisters of similar age underwent simultaneous laryngectomy for similar lesions. Some of the genetic aspects of cancer in general serve as introductions to the case reports.
