Abstract
Two cases of facial paralysis of the Bell's type occurred in which evidence of cellular infiltration or signs of local infiltration in the chorda tympani nerve was absent. In one case, the chorda tympani neurectomy did not influence the course of the paralysis. The failure to confirm the hypothesis of Blatt in these two cases suggests caution in accepting chorda tympani neurectomy as a cure of Bell's palsy.
