Reconstruction of the Ossicular ChainWith the Polytef (Teflon) Piston Prosthesis
James R. Tabor, MD
Arch Otolaryngol. 1970;92(2):141-146.
Abstract
A polytef (Teflon) and tissue prosthesis was used on patients in whom the ossicular chain was essentially absent. Preoperative and surgical findings are discussed since this group of patients showed advanced stages of chronic otitis media. Audiometric tests indicate a moderate success rate with this particular prosthesis.
