Abstract
Two patients experiencing a sensorineural hearing loss of unilateral nature associated with skin diving illustrate other underlying mechanisms that may produce a sudden hearing loss. With the current interest in the study of unilateral sensorineural hearing losses it is important to document causative factors other than eighth-nerve tumors or viral diseases. The recognition of this clinical entity associated with diving should enable the physician to approach the problem in a satisfactory fashion.
