Salivary Gland Imaging and Radionuclide Dacryocystography in Agenesis of Salivary Glands

Abstract

• A 12-year-old boy had dry mouth and teeth in poor condition. Salivary gland imaging with sodium pertechnetate Tc 99m showed absence of all major salivary glands, and a radionuclide dacryocystogram demonstrated decreased lacrimal secretion on the left side. No evidence of abnormal inheritance could be demonstrated.
