Abstract
The retroconchal space is defined in this article as the posterior part of the lateral wall of the nasal fossa. Considerable variations in the size and shape of this retroconchal space exist, these in turn depending on the variations of the middle and inferior conchae. The retroconchal space can be defined in plain radiographs or in nasopharyngograms. This would be of help in pinpointing the site of a neoplasm.
