Autotransfusion in Otolaryngology
Fred S. Herzon, MD
Arch Otolaryngol. 1978;104(10):608-609.
Abstract
Homologous blood transfusions have rare but serious complications that may be eliminated by using autotransfusion for elective surgery in the head and neck. With a small amount of planning, virtually all of the blood necessary for any surgical procedure in the head and neck can come from the patient.
