Abstract
A 42-year-old man had surglbone (Boplant) inserted into the left nasal cavity for atrophic rhinitis. Surgical procedures were performed six and seven years later for suppurative rhinitis and osteomyelitis. Although organisms that cause actinomycosis could not be cultured from surgical specimens, a presumptive diagnosis of the disease seems warranted by the histopathological findings. Intensive long-term antibiotic therapy was necessary to eradicate the disease.
